Before your appointment:

Ineligible clients: 

- Pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, and clients with skin diseases.

* Please be advised that you cannot receive the Full Shading Lip procedure if you have an active cold sore/fever blister.

* Please remove lash extensions  prior to any eyeliner procedure.

* If your brows were previously tattooed by another artist, please notify Natalie by sending a picture of your brows without any makeup & in good lighting to (510)541-2890.

You may arrive with makeup to show the artist your style & preference. If you don't want to, no worries. We will map, measure, and shape for you regardless. 

Please come with as much of your own eyebrow hair as possible, we will tweeze & shape on the day of your appointment.

Do not consume caffeine or alcohol before your appointment to avoid thinning of the blood (which results in excessive bleeding). 

Do not take any pain medications to avoid thinning of the blood. (If you must, you may take TYLENOL, this will not thin the blood)

Please do not bring young, unsupervised children  to your appointment.

Please:

• Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks on the day of treatment.

• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before treatment.

• Do not take omega3 (fish oil) 1 week before treatment.

• Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 3 days before treatment.

• No waxing 2-3 days before treatment.

• No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser or any other intense treatments 2 weeks before treatment.

• Shower and fix your hair as you need to take extra care not to get your brows wet for several days.

Aftercare: 

Eyebrows:

  • 7-7-7 rule:

    • 7 Days --> Apply Aquaphor Ointment (1-2 times per day, a very thin layer each time).

    • 7 Days --> Zero water in your brows. Some use cling wrap as a shield when showering.

    • 7 Days --> No sweating, no brow makeup, no other products in your brows. 

  • Scabbing will occur, it is NORMAL. Don't panic and please do not peel the remaining scabs on your eyebrows. This is your skin exfoliating and it means new skin is coming in, forceful peeling may result in pre-mature pigment loss.

  • Your eyebrows will appear extremely light after it peels, this is also NORMAL. Color will resurface within the next 4 weeks.

  • It is NOT uncommon for eyebrows to appear patchy or uneven in color, size, or shape when it is healing after the swelling dissipates.

  • Please be patient and allow your skin to heal properly. Any minor touch ups cannot be performed until at least the 4 week mark.

  • Swelling: Very slight. A little redness in the immediate area.

    Avoid during healing process:
    · Soaps, facial cleansers, water on pigmented areas
    · Washing pigmented area
    · Chlorine pools
    · Retin-A on pigmented areas
    · Hot, steamy, long showers
    · Sun on pigmented areas
    · Jacuzzi or saunas
    · Terry towels on pigmented areas

    Also, shower with your back to the water to keep water, shampoo, and conditioner from getting into the pigmented areas. Have a light application of lubrication on the pigmented area during showers.

    Do not be alarmed by fading after the first application. The final color cannot be judged until at least three weeks after the touchup applications are completed. This is the reason follow-ups are recommended.

Eyeliner:

  • Swelling: Moderate. Following the procedure, you may find the area slightly puffy for the first few mornings.

    Use only Artificial Tears product to moisten and cleanse eye area.

    Avoid during healing process:
    · Contact lenses.
    · Chlorine pools.
    · Soaps, facial cleansers on pigmented area.
    · Eye makeup (included non-allergenic makeup) until flaking is finished.
    · Jacuzzi, sauna.
    · Retin-A on pigmented area.
    · Hot, long, steamy showers.
    · Eyelash curlers.
    · Terry towels on pigmented area.
    · Mascara (then begin with a new bottle of mascara).

    Shower with your back to the water to keep water, shampoo, and conditioner from getting into the pigmented area.

    IF EYES BECOME INFECTED, call your physician and obtain prescription for eye drops.

    Do not rub eyes: doing so may cause damage.

    Do not be alarmed by fading after first application. The final color cannot be judged until three weeks after touch-up applications are completed.

Lips:

  • Day 1-14 --- Apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment.

  • Do not eat/drink foods that have dye (i.e. blueberries, coffee, wine, ect.)

  • No seafood, no beef, no eggs, no spicy food, no hot liquid for 3-4 days

  • Gently rinse lips with antibacterial soap after each meal and immediately apply ointment afterwards.

  • Your lips will peel, this is NORMAL. Please do not pick the remaining skin. 

  • Once you peel, your lips will appear as if you never got them tattooed, DON'T panic. It will take 3-4 weeks for color to slowly flush back in.

    Swelling: Moderate. An ice bag should be applied for the first few hours, alternating ten minutes on, ten minutes off.

    Moisture: Lips will tend to be very dry. Keep them moist with shea butter or shea oil ONLY. Some peeling may occur. DO NOT PEEL OFF! Do not wipe your lips with a napkin while eating; blot instead. Drink through a straw. Lips have a tendency to fade up to sixty percent after the first procedure. No smoking right after lip procedure. If you have a history of cold sores, make sure you contact your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex medication.

    Avoid during the healing process:
    · Chlorine pools.
    · Retin-A on the lips.
    · Drinking without a straw.
    · Hot, long, steamy showers.
    · Sun on pigmented area.
    · Soaps, facial cleansers on pigmented area.
    · Terry towels on pigmented area.
    · Any topical product such as Chapstick, Blistex, or Ambesol. USE ONLY AQUAPHORE.
    · Rubbing lips with washcloth. (Wash around lips carefully.)

FAQ'S

- Avoid any activities that promote bacterial growth (i.e. gyms, heavy sweating) for 1 week.

- Avoid swimming pools, saunas, ocean water for at least 3 weeks.

- Avoid direct sunlight for 1 week (wear hats, sunglasses, ect.)
